Creating a PDF file from DOORS module

All,

As part of the automation, I am trying to get a pdf file from doors & save it in my machine [D:\DOORS].

Note: I have installed win2pdf software on my machine and made that printer as default...

// Code
printModule current Module

The moment i run this in the dxl window, I get print dialog box.

I need help here, How do i store this output into some folder?, do we need some windows script here?

Any help towards this would be great to meet my September delivery...

You can print to a PDF file same as any other document. Just good look getting it to format properly.

Thanks a lot for your reply....

I am ok with the format, because only one column, not to many columns. For the module we have a default page setup as well.

Just need more clarification on creating the printing to a pdf file....

Can we have control on the print dialog box to click OK button and provide path?

Same as other document means, you meant the export to word, excel?

Kindly help...

Thanks!
Muruga!

I guess yes. We use PDF995 and get the dialogue to define the target path and file name from the PDF995 application.

But please note a subtle DOORS error (confirmed for Version 8.3.0.1, defect ID: 30477). We could verify the same error also with other PDF creator (e.g., primopdf). Don’t know if it also applies to paper printing.

Description

In case the text is slightly longer than the column width, a line brake
happens. But instead of printing the rest text to the new line, it will be
ommited.

How To Reproduce

happens every time with same view selected

Workaround Found/Used

make affected column wider or smaller or switch off auto indentation
I assume that this just moves the problem to a potentially other object where
the above mentioned condition becomes true.
